The tool for virtual classroom is called "Brihaspati" and it is open sourcesoftware that could be used by any university. One can also modify it and use it in domains like Human Resource Development and e-Governance. This tool is listed on source forge.net.

BIBLIOGRAPHIC UNION DATABASE OF PUBLIC LIBRARIES IN KONKAN AREA

Mr. Vidya Prasarak Mandal, Thane (Maharashtra) inaugurated The Union Catalogue website http://granthalaya.com/ on 26thJanuary 2009. In this project VPM,Thane intends to create bibliographic union database of holdings of all the public libraries in Konkan area including Thane. After completion of it, one would be in a position to know about the availability and location of the books in public libraries of Konkan area.
