Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan Bangalore invites applications for the position of 
Trainee in the Library.

 
MMB is part of the worldwide network of the Goethe-Institut Munich and promotes German language and culture abroad. The Library in Bangalore provides comprehensive and up-to-date information about Germany.

 
Selected candidate will be trained in all the processes and systems used in the Goethe- Instituts worldwide including electronic circulation, cataloguing, classification, acquisition policies and procedures, information work, content management system and all other library related procedures.

Requirements:
  1. Master's degree in Library and Information Science
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  3. Competence in using new technology as a research tool
  4. Profound knowledge of computer applications
  5. Strong commitment to public service
  6. Initiative, flexibility, and strong ability to work in a team environment
  7. Ability to adapt to an intercultural work environment

NIRD - Hyderabad JOBS

NIRD invites applications in the prescribed format for the following posts to be filled up on Direct recruitment basis :

I. Professors : 5 posts (OBC-1, SC-1 and UR-3)

(Scale of pay : Rs.16,400-22,400-pre-revised)
in the following areas:

i) Library and Information Science
ii) Information Technology
iii) Rural Infrastructure
iv) Human Resource Development
v) Panchayati Raj

Qualifications are as follows:

i) Library and Information Science:


Academic Qualifications:


(a) Essential:


First or high Second Class Post Graduate Degree (55% and above) in Journalism, Mass Communication or in Library Sciences of a recognized University.


A Doctorate in Library Management/Media/Mass Communication.


b) Experience:


10 years of experience in editing, publishing, audio visual or communication production out of which at least 5 years at a level equivalent to that of a Reader of the University.


Or Officers belonging to the Indian Information Service with at least 15 years of experience in editing, publishing, audio visual or communication production, public relations and image building of an organisation/institute/department are also eligible to apply. In such cases relaxation of academic qualification such as Ph.D. etc. will be considered on merits.


c) Desirable:


i) Independent field experience or research experience with published books and research papers in the fields indicated above.


ii) Experience in public relations at senior level in an Academic Institution/ Organization/Department.


iii) Noticeable/substantial contribution towards image building of an academic institution/organization/department.
